Bought for my dad who is hard of hearing and works great. Easy to connect and loud enough for him to hear the phone ring.

Even though we had the ringer on my 90-year-old mother-in-law's princess phone set to its loudest, often she didn't hear the ringer when we called.
This affordably priced Gino DM-13D Loud Sound RJ11 Telephone Ring Ringer Amplifier has solved that problem.
This thing is LOUD! And the tone is piercing.
When I tested it in our home, my wife, who doesn't have the greatest hearing either, asked if there was any way to turn it down because it was so attention getting. I told her "no, and that's the point," though I do suppose one could probably tone it down a bit by taping over some of the holes…
Installation is simple. Connect a phone cord (you need to provide one yourself as one isn't provided with the unit) from the telephone jack on the wall into the end of the unit with one jack. Plug the phone cord from the telephone into one of the two jacks on the other end of the unit – it doesn't matter which. That's it. Easy peasy – no batteries to install, no switches to set, nothing else to do but to look forward to your loved one actually hearing the phone ring the next time you call.

This will come with no wire, no instructions. Don't buy unless you are connected to a landline box.

I bought this for my grandfather who is practically deaf and never wears his hearing aid. He can never hear the phone ring because the TV volume is set on "blow the speakers out", so we got this hoping it would help.
When it came in the mail, I hooked it up at my parents house to test it out. It's super simple to install and I called our landline from my cell. Instantly I thought we were under an air assault, the cat bolted to the other room, and my dad clutched his chest. It's loud. My dad said it's similar to the old ringers they would use on the shop floors to carry over the noise.
It's perfect for my grandad, or anyone else hard of hearing, and once you realize how loud it is, it's not as much of a shock to the system. It's very affordable and a great investment for anyone who has issues hearing a phone ring.

Works as advertised. Easy to install. Plug the line from the wall into the end with the single outlet and plug the phone or answering machine etc. into the end with 2 outlets (RJ11). The device is loud-ish, I put it at my aunt's house and she already had her ringer turned to max and they were about the same level in terms of volume, the difference being that this device had a higher pitch ring. I've since been informed that elderly people tend to lose the higher end of their hearing first, so I'm not sure having a higher pitch was the way to go, but she said she could hear it from the other room, so that's good. It certainly wasn't expensive so worth the price, and since she has a habit of somehow turning off the ringer on her portable phone, at least she can't turn this off unless she unplugs it. Also, if there are spare phone jacks around the house, you can plug this in to any outlet, you don't have to plug a phone into it to have it work, so if you need a 'ringer' away from the main (or possibly only) phone in the house, this will work nicely for that.

I recently bought a phone for my 90-year-old mother, on Amazon, a terrific solid phone with good sound during calls but with a very low ring. We were going to return it when I found this item, and it solved the problem. It takes two minutes to add to the phone line and turns the ring from a soft ring to a blare…perfect for anyone with hearing problems or who tends to be at the other end of the house when their landline rings. Terrific item and ridiculously inexpensive.

So far so good. I live in a roommate style apt and the phone is in the room opposite the living room. I can hear it in my bedroom. I wish I didn't have to buy an extension to go with it though. It seems like that should be included. Also it fits too tight. When the phone line is inserted it is very difficult to pull it out. It feels like it's about to break when taking it out.

Sehr laut
Reviewed in Germany on January 12, 2020
